Viewer Participation Poll

We are currently mid-point in the process of adopting two Ragdoll kittens - of course, as Michael's Chinese teacher pointed out, the enormous natural physique of these cats relative to other domestic cats makes it seem odd to call them kittens. In fact, she at first thought Michael was showing her a picture of a dog and was mistakenly calling it a cat in his broken Chinese. So here's the equation: take a zygote from the fat boy on the left (King Solomon) and add it to a zygote from the regal cat on the right (Queen Elizabeth), and you get the brown-nosed furball pictured below them.

Then, take a zygote from the young turk on the left (King Arthur) and add it to the lynxy lady on the right (Queen Marie) and you get that "ready-to-rumble" girl in the middle.

While we're both happy as punch to have made our final selection (with much input from the breeder, regarding the personality and temperament of each kitten currently available), we have yet to settle on a set of names for these youngsters. We have narrowed down our list and would like to share it with you for your comments/votes/additions/suggestions:

Heisenberg and Schrödinger (Cara's current favorite)
Narco Polo and Ipso Fatso
Chewbacca and Sasquatch
Karma and Kismet
Cyrano and Roxanne
AWOL and FUBAR
Beelzebubba and Lucie-Fur
Catilla the Ton and Kublai Kat
Thelonius and Bebop
Faraday and Fermi
Thor and Freya
Hooligan and Hellion
Davita and Goliath
Red Hat and Minix (since they're both names for Eunuchs)
Unarchimedes and Purrsephone
Null and Void
Trial and Error
Throttle and Clutch
Count Napula and Vlad the Inhaler
We look forward to your thoughts!

You should name them Sit and Stay.

"Come here, sit!"

Hmmm... let me guess who suggested Throttle and Clutch?

They are heart-melting - you will have your work cut out for you. Or you could just cut to the chase and go with..

'NOT on the Counter' and 'Next time in the Litterbox'.
=)

Assuming that is not to your liking... i vote for Hoologian and Hellion. (Hellcat and Meowcifer?)

Cuddles and Poochums?

Cafe' and Latte.

Gibbs and ....

that's it for now.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern

or

Scarecrow and Mrs. King

or

go with the stereotypical bigoted view of American take-out Chinese places and call one Lunch and the other one Dinner.

It really depends on if you're looking for cutesy, paired names or other just regular pet names.

Personally I would call them "Stupid cat" and "Other stupid cat" interchangeably.

Either Narco Polo and Ipso Fatso

or

AWOL and FUBAR

Also, how is Lunch and Dinner a " stereotypical bigoted view"?

Chairman Meow and Nathaniel Pawthorne

No way! Who is writing this blog. Certainly not Cara. Never thought I would see the day. Well I guess if you are really going for a feline, the rags are the most laid back version.
Just get used to calling them 'Your Majesty'.

Cara’s pick is mine too of course.
However that being said, Cara make sure you test the names out,, you don't have to use the same "child naming technique" I endorse, but make sure you give a few hollers’ of "Heisenberg and Schrödinger get off the curtains"
"Heisenberg and Schrödinger who left mommy this pressie?"
"Heisenberg, let Schrödinger out of the box!"
Then go with Jason’s idea of stupid cat1 and 2

Hi Cara:

I couldn't resist. I think your choices are a little long, but then

Herman and Erwin are a bit wimpy

Of course you missed Kung and Fu

I would have thought Thelonius and Monk would work. Or "cat 1 and cat 2" that's Niki's I think.

There's always "Purr" and "Fection", "Mutt" and "Jeff", "Don't" and "Stop it."

In any event they look delightful, if a cat can do that. I guess dogs are off the list.
