Well planned
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Chinese people for being so conscientious of Jews. Tonight is the start of Yom Kippur that will then run all day tomorrow. This is a very special Jewish holiday that involves fasting and spending the entire day in prayer. To spend the day at synagogue usually requires taking some time off work, but here in China, the government has graciously started National Day today and the National Day celebration runs all week. In recognition of National Day the US Embassy is closed Mon-Wed.

I'm confused. If it's National Day, how come they take the whole week off? Bonus!? Yay China! Yay Jews!
Heh. Yay Jews.
Shana Tova.
