This photo was simply irresistable. Unlike the church on Wangfujing in one of downtown Beijing's swankier shopping areas, this church looks so...ordinary. It looks like the photo could almost have been taken anywhere in Big City, USA. Assuming, that is, you don't get too distracted by the glowing yellow haze of a polluted Beijing sunset backlighting the structure.
While we will admit that this photo will not seem as jarringly odd to those of you who see this kind of sight every day, for a Laowai in China, it is a shocker.

If you hadn't told me that was polution I would have just enjoyed it as a nice sunset :)
I heard some catholic propaganda the other day that said that there are 8 million catholics in China now. Could that possibly be right?
Oh, and its Kirby's blog now. Kirby was looking for the huntin' channel on cable the other day and accidently landed on the catholic channel which is how he's so up to date on his stats. There was a special about religion and China.
My goodness, Kirby is a very up to date dog. Actually, he is much more up to date then we are since we have no idea how many Catholics there may be in the country.
Then again, it is not really something that comes up much since no one want to be accused of proselytizing.
