These are the coconut, almond, and walnut juices. The Chinese like to make all sorts of things into sweetened drinks which often just makes them sort of weird to our biased Western taste buds. Of these drinks the coconut was okay although the gelatinous bits of coconut pulp were a little disconcerting. The walnut was pretty darn good and we might actually get more of it. It is similar to an afternoon tea that Michael is very fond of. The almond... well... we won't be buying that again.
The chestnut jam tasted a lot like sweetened chestnuts - go figure. It's also an interesting green color. The hawthorne nectar is a sort of sweet, syrupy, slightly sour juice. Natalie and I both mixed it with water about 50/50 to make it drinkable. The kiwi nectar has not yet been opened. Reports will be forthcoming.

So I wandered into Chinatown today in search of walnut juice. Bet the other grad students have better excuses for avoiding their dissertations...
